This extensive, professionally written biography of St. John Baptist de La Salle is the “critical biography” that had been called for by the General Chapter of 1956 and for which the Cahier Lasalliens (LINK) and a host of other primary resource materials had been collected in the years since then. Therefore, it is a primary resource for anyone interested in the details of his life, his charism, his personality, or his vocational journey.

The translation of this book from the original French was a project of the Lasallian Publications Committee, a group of Brothers and Lasallian Partners that formed in 2016 to encourage and organize new publications and help guide the maturation of the Lasallian charism for today and into the future.
