A Little More Information
In July of 2014, the two Districts of San Francisco and New Orleans-Santa Fe ceased to exist, and the new Lasallian District of San Francisco New Orleans was formed. The schools, communities, and other institutions combined into this new province of Lasallian ministry that generally covers the western half of the United States, concentrating primarily on the Southwest, West, and Northwest. It is is one of four that comprise the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN – French Acronym) of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
In the 2016-2017 academic year, the SFNO District served 12,645 students in elementary and secondary schools, 3,908 students at Saint Mary’s College, and 1,750 students in educational centers, making a total of 18,303 people served. The financial awards provided were $34.5 million for elementary and secondary students, and $59.3 million for college students, making a total of $93.8 million. The SFNO District schools employ 2,652 people, including 136 administrators (13 of whom are Christian Brothers), 578 support staff, and 1,298 faculty members. There are 61 campus ministers, 164 religion/theology teachers, and 74 mission/identity personnel.
